Growing up in Connecticut makes you have a thing for fall. Crispy weather, leaves changing colours and long drives in our station wagon to go apple picking. Many things changed when we moved back to San Sebastian, except our feelings for the fall and apples. Who knew that cider, apple orchards were so tied to our DNA. Rioja is always beautiful but the magic happens in September. Normally we would be in full swing with almost no time to stop and smell the roses ( as they say).
